Jax Taylor has never been a fan of his former Vanderpump Rules co-star Katie Maloney. When she made a snide comment about his new sports bar, Jax’s Studio City, he didn’t hesitate to clap back.
During an April 30 appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Katie suggested that Jax’s new establishment is merely an appendage to the already-established Rocco’s Tavern. The Something About Her co-owner called it a “bonus room.”
Needless to say, Jax was not amused.
No love lost between the frenemies
When The Daily Dish asked Jax for a response to Katie’s WWHL shade, Jax commented, “Katie is an accessory. She was Stassi [Schroeder]’s accessory. Now she’s Ariana [Madix]’s accessory.”
Jax and Katie have never had much love lost between them. They had a history of squabbling when they were both on Pump Rules.
On Season 11, Episode 7 of VPR, Katie commented about rumors that Jax was “running around” on his estranged wife Brittany Cartwright. Since that episode aired, Jax and Britt have separated. At the time, Jax observed, “Katie loves to f*cking just start sh*t. That’s what she does.”
During her WWHL appearance alongside Ariana, a fan asked Katie if she would ever visit Jax’s Studio City.
“Listen. Me and Jax don’t get along,” she replied, putting it mildly. “I don’t even know if I’m allowed in there. Why don’t we just go to Rocco’s that’s attached? … Jax’s is a bonus room. It’s not shade. It’s the truth.”
“It’s attached,” Jax responded. “All bars are attached to something … Isn’t Pump attached to Tom Tom? It’s the same thing.”
“A miserable human being”
In retaliation for her snarky comments, Jax mentioned Katie and Ariana’s business Something About Her. The WeHo sandwich shop has been “opening soon” for over a year, but now it finally has an actual opening date set for May 22.
“They’ve been subletting that place for the last year,” Jax said. “So they’re gonna have to charge at least $50 a sandwich just to make any profit in my eyes.”
Actually, Ariana and Katie made the lucrative decision over a year ago to launch a merch store amidst the shop’s many delays. That brilliant idea paid off with sales reportedly surpassing $200,000.
But Jax, being Jax, couldn’t resist taking things a step further by getting personal. “Katie’s just a miserable human being,” he said. “She’s miserable.”
