Sister Wives star Meri Brown has heard the rumors. She’s seen the blogs. But she’s in no rush to give up her independence anytime soon.
In response to myriad reports that she’s remarried, Meri has two words for her fans: fake news. On May 8, Kody Brown’s ex-wife published a lengthy but humorous rebuttal on her Instagram.
Don’t be throwing that rice just yet
“Not only did I launch my Worthy Up biz this week, [but] apparently I also got married!” she wrote. “Four times! And I’m sure there’s more to come! This girl over here is BUSY!”
Meri’s post highlighted four different (but similar) news reports of her “wedding,” including four different grooms. Good for her! Maybe TLC will sign her for a new show, “Brother Husbands.” (Kody’s worst nightmare!)
“Listen, don’t slow down on your life,” she added. “Keep it full speed ahead. Do something every day that moves you in the direction of your dreams. We only have this one life, and it gets shorter every day. Don’t get to the end of it and wonder what could have been. Even if you want to get married four times in a week, do it!” She peppered the post with crying/laughing emojis, so at least she has a sense of humor about America’s interest in her love life.
Even though she’s not yet shopping for wedding dresses, Meri hasn’t ruled out finding love again. In late April, she shared with ET Online what she’s hoping to find in her next relationship.
“Prince Charming has not arrived,” she said at the time. “I’m not really looking for a prince. No, I’m looking for a king … A prince is still a boy. I want a man who knows who he is.”
Someone who can “match [her] energy”
Meri’s dating history is an open book. She’s only had one relationship since splitting with Kody in early 2023. Now she’s looking for someone who can keep up with her.
“I want somebody who knows who he is and is confident in who he is,” she added. “Because I know who I am, and I’m confident in who I am, and I need somebody who can match my energy. When we cross paths, we’ll know it.”
Meri has no regrets about her marriage to Kody or her divorce. “I look back and am grateful for the experiences and the lessons,” she shared in a recent Instagram post on what would have been her wedding anniversary. “For a long time, I had the narrative in my head that if I couldn’t make my marriage work, then I was a failure. But what if I flipped that narrative? What if, instead, I looked at all the lessons I lived and realized that’s what made me who I am today?”
In the meantime, she’s living her life, enjoying her friends and her relationships. She’s not afraid to face the adventure alone, but if she comes across someone to share it with, even better.
Sister Wives is now streaming on Discovery+, Max, and several other platforms.
