Melissa Gorga ‘Couldn’t Stop Crying’ as Antonia Heads to College

With all the drama between the Gorga siblings, Real Housewives of New Jersey fans could lose track of their children and how much they’ve all grown up on camera. The elder of the Gorga and Giudice cousins are attending college.

And during the season premiere of RHONJ, Joe Gorga and Melissa Gorga started getting all the feels regarding their daughter going away to college. The Envy boutique owner was filmed trying to help Antonia Gorga sort her clothes for the move.

The storyline will “resonate with a lot of moms”

Melissa gave an exclusive interview to People about her 18-year-old daughter’s new chapter.

“And to see her go, I was so emotional. I know that it’s going to resonate with a lot of moms out there that are about to send their kids away or their kids just left,” the On Display singer revealed.

“It’s hard. It’s so bittersweet because you’re so excited for them. And then you’re also just…you just can’t stop crying,” Melissa added.

A parent knows the mix of emotions between pride in seeing their child succeed, and the sadness of letting them go.

“She didn’t think she was going to like her living space and the showers and the whole roommate situation, all of that,” Melissa explained. “She seemed so doubtful and I was like, ‘Oh my god, she’s going to come back. She’ll be back in a month. I know it.”

In the Season 14 premiere episode, Melissa notably bought Antonia a pair of “shower shoes” to help her daughter assimilate to sharing a bathroom. However, the eldest Gorga child has adapted well to her new, but downsized, living space.

“She is living the dream in Delaware,” the mom-of-three gushed. “She loves it. She absolutely loves it. She just got into the sorority that she wanted to get into, so she’s happy.”
