The Golden Bachelor divorcees can’t catch a break. Every day, someone is commenting on the split between Gerry Turner and Theresa Nist. You have fans criticizing their short-lived romance. Bachelor Nation alums are spinning conspiracy theories trying to figure out what really led to the split. It’s a mess, and now former Golden Bachelor contestant Kathy Swarts has thrown in her two cents.
The 70-year-old single lady did an interview with People, where she talked about whether or not she would sign up to be The Golden Bachelorette. She said she would be down for the show, but there’s a caveat. She wants to outdo Theresa and Gerry.

“I would do the televised wedding,” Kathy quipped. “I just think for me, I’d want to be engaged longer.”
Despite the light shade, Kathy had nothing but warm wishes for Gerry and Theresa amid their breakup. She felt confident that they both would land on their feet after this hiccup. She said, “Life goes on.”
With that in mind, Kathy made it very clear that she would be open for another shot at reality TV love. When fantasizing about a potential return for the Golden Bachelorette, she joked that it might be difficult for ABC to find guys worthy of her love. Kathy said she has some pretty high standards and a lifestyle that could be hard to match.
“I would be the Golden Bachelorette, but I am an extremely active, adventurous person and I think they would have a hard time finding 20-some-odd guys that could keep up with me,” Kathy shared.
Whether or not Kathy will have a chance at finding love again on reality TV is still up in the air. ABC hasn’t shared any details about The Golden Bachelorette, other than that it is in the works. Regardless of if Kathy gets picked, she said she’ll be tuned in to watch for the fun of it. Plus, she’ll be waiting on the sidelines ready for any leftover men.
“I want all the rejects,” Kathy joked. “I’m willing to take sloppy seconds.”
