It’s not just the fans and Summer Marie Thomas who have a problem with Amir Lancaster’s girlfriend, Natalie Cortes. Candiace Dillard Bassett from Real Housewives of Potomac doesn’t have the best feeling about her either.
In a series of posts on X, formerly Twitter, Candiace voiced her opinion about Amir and Natalie’s relationship, saying watching their dynamic seemed “weird.”
“The amount of coddling taking place with the girlfriend tells me we are missing context in their relationship…maybe as it relates to the show?” she wrote in April 2024. “Like, is she not comfortable w/him being on the show? Something is missing. He’s on eggshells, and it’s weird.”
Amir says Natalie didn’t want to steal the spotlight…
During his interview with Page Six, Amir defended Natalie against Candiace and the watchers’ comments. “She’s doing the best that she can and I really applaud her for that because she’s here in support of me. She’s not here to steal the spotlight, she’s not here to do anything,” he said.
“So she’s going to make sure that she gives the right answers that don’t come off too bashful or too entitled or anything like that.”
The RHOP alum also posted about Natalie’s comment, saying she sells homes for over two million dollars while Amir sells under one million. “That comment about what they make was [cringe],” she wrote.
Later, during Natalie’s stay, when asked about the next steps in their relationship, she told the rest of the group that she was looking forward to merging businesses and having Amir join her team.
“Girl…they asking you what’s next in your RELATIONSHIP and you giving corporate America answers. Your team?” Candiace wrote online. “Is he your man or your assistant? I — what? This isn’t giviiiiinnnngggggguhhh #SummerHouseMV.”
According to Amir, Natalie’s response was “bare minimum” for a reason.
“So when we’re talking about our business or what the next steps are, she’s giving you the bare minimum,” he said. “And if I want to come in and put a little whipped cream on top of that, she is excited for that. But she knows that’s not necessary.”
