Below Deck: Dylan Piérre De Villiers on Why He’d Be a Better Bosun Than Ben Willoughby

Below Deck Season 11 has seen a lot of drama going down. We’ve already lost crew members in all of the main departments, including the galley. Due to this, Ben Willoughby got himself a sweet little promotion to the Bosun position. This saw Dylan Piérre De Villiers coming onboard, taking over Ben’s now-vacated deckhand role.

But also, cue that hot Canadian lifeguard from the movie Grown Ups. You know, the one that all of the women are ogling at the water park. Yet, when he opens up his mouth and speaks to his sunbathing admirers, everything quickly falls apart. IYKYK.

Moving past this little reference that’s been consuming my mind this season on BD, once Dylan came onboard, his frustrations with Ben were clear. Especially after Ben decided to promote Sunny Marquis, aka his boatmance, to the lead deckhand position. Turns out, Dylan’s still riding on the waves of his annoyances. On a recent episode of Watch What Happens Live, Dylan didn’t hold back, because in his mind, he’d make a far better department head than Ben.

While appearing on WWHL, a caller phoned in with a very specific question for Dylan. “What are three ways that you think you’d make a better Bosun than Ben,” she asked. On this, Dylan likely could have given her a dozen reasons as to why, but instead, he stuck to her requested three.

“Well, I wouldn’t screw my subordinates, number one. Number two, I wouldn’t promote somebody based on my actual personal relationship with them, but based on skill set. And number three, I would just be nice to everybody. I would treat everybody equally. I wouldn’t favor other people upon my personal thoughts about them, and I’d keep the work life and personal life separate,” he numerically listed.

“Still a little salty, aren’t you Dylan,” asked Andy Cohen. “Noooooo,” Dylan responded, with a bubbly showing of sarcasm. Translated, this means yes, yes he is.

Below Deck Season 11 continues every Monday at 9/8c on Bravo.
