Report: Vanderpump Rules Season 12 Filming Delayed Amid Busy Summer

A few schedules just cleared up for the summer. Vanderpump Rules is getting ready to take a brief hiatus. The show is going on a pause, and they’ve decided not to film Season 12 this summer.

According to Deadline, a source close to the show confirmed that the production would deviate from their normal summer schedule. Last year, they started filming Season 11 just a few weeks after the explosive Season 10 reunion. After Scandoval rocked the friend group, it looks like they’re all about to get a much-deserved break from the drama.

Of course, in the world of Bravo, the phrase “on pause” carries a lot of weight. Going on pause could mean going dark for a month, or it could signal the beginning of the end. In the case of VPR, it sounds like the former. The show will return for Season 12, it’s just not happening right away. Sources close to the show cited a few reasons for the change.

Firstly, the cast just needs a little bit of a breather after all of the Scandoval mess. It has been a nonstop rollercoaster ever since Tom Sandoval and Rachel Leviss’ affair was exposed. A break will give everyone some space to settle down and move past it.

On top of that, Ariana Madix signed on as the new host of Love Island USA. If VPR resumed production this summer, it would likely cause conflicts with her new hosting gig. Now that Ariana is the number one girl in the group, the producers don’t want to risk not having her at the center of the action in Season 12.

It’s also worth noting that Lala Kent is pregnant with her second child. With the cameras going down for a little bit, she will be able to focus on the health of her and her baby. When production resumes, she and the rest of the cast will have a lot of life to catch us up on.

Although VPR is going on a brief pause, sources close to the production confirmed that this won’t impact The Valley. Bravo hasn’t officially confirmed a second season, but it’s hard to imagine them not continuing with that show — especially if Pump Rules is going dark for a bit.

In the meantime, there’s still plenty of Vanderpump Rules Season 11 left to enjoy. New episodes air on Bravo, Tuesdays at 8/7c.
