Katie Maloney and Ariana Madix’s sandwich shop, Something About Her, seems like it will never open. They keep running into issues with the city, the permitting department, and even their chef. In turn, these two Vanderpump Rules stars are facing allegations of fraud left and right. The viewers think that they’re only looking for a storyline or even a quick payday, but having gone through the process of permitting, and also dealing with a backed-up city myself, personally speaking, I get it.
On top of their delays, these ladies have sold a ton of merch while waiting for their paperwork to clear. These sales are likely helping the women cover their rental costs, as their business sits without any patrons. People think that this is also a money-grabbing move. On all of this, Katie’s saying nope.
It’s coming, everyone
While sitting down for a gab session with E! News, Katie and Scheana Shay did their best to try and explain what was going on with Katie’s shop. “We had to rip out an entire patio,” Katie began. But then, she offered the listeners a great update, revealing that they are “so dangerously close, and I mean that in a really positive way. I know it’s been a really long coming, and that’s felt by everyone that asks me that question.”
Katie’s frustrated. Due to this, she stressed that “If we could’ve opened six months ago, we absolutely would’ve. But, it’s been completely out of our hands. But we’re so excited. We’re hiring right now, and we’ll be training very soon. It’s right around the corner,” she teased.
Next, Katie explained the issues that they’ve encountered with LA’s Public Works and Safety department, joking that she’d give us all their number, just in case we wanted to call and verify her claims. She then quipped that people “like to take pictures, and say that it’s closed down, but it’s definitely there.” Overall, this process has been incredibly grueling for these ladies, but Katie’s asking us all to hang tight, because “it’s coming,” and “it’s not a scam.”
