On The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills Season 13, fans saw Sutton Stracke change for the better. One of the driving factors in that change was likely Sutton’s divorce from Christian Stracke.
Having married back in 2000, Christian filed for divorce on September 22, 2016, two days after Sutton’s birthday. A real class act this guy. Despite the pain and heartache the ordeal must’ve caused, Sutton came out stronger.
Sutton’s transformation in Season 13 was evident. Even the fashionista herself couldn’t deny that she “found her voice” throughout the tumultuous episodes. Reportedly, Christian had to agree.
Garcelle gives her praises to a “stronger” Sutton
On the Bravo Hot Mic podcast, Sutton and Garcelle Beauvais discussed life with and without their exes. During the chat, Alex Baskin asked Sutton if she’d “hurt” anyone since coming out of her shell more in Season 13. Before she could answer, Garcelle interjected to say Sutton had become a “stronger” woman, which could cause people to perceive her “different[ly].”
Sutton responded to Garcelle’s interjection by saying, “My ex-husband feels the same way.” As the two discussed their prior relationships, Garcelle recalled one instance where Sutton called her. “One time, she was having some issues with her ex,” Garcelle said. “She called me and she said, ‘How do you get along with your ex so well? Are you still sleeping with him?’”
Sutton admitted that a friend at the time gave her the advice to sleep with her ex to placate him. “That’s why I think I asked you that question,” Sutton said. “Maybe some women do that. We don’t.” Both women addressed the struggle in deciding whether to stay or leave. However, Sutton recalled the overwhelming calm she felt once her ex was gone.
