Love her or hate her, Monica Garcia brought the fire and ice to the Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4 – and now she’s got a new boyfriend!
With Reba McEntire’s song lyrics stuck in my head, “A single mom who works two jobs / Who loves her kids and never stops,” I really started to love Monica as a housewife. She was open about her affair with her brother-in-law, recapped her time in the Mormon Church, and seemed like a woman who wore it all on her sleeves. But along the way, her justice crusade went off the rails, and she turned into the villain.
The season finale showed that you can’t always judge a Burn Book by its cover. It turned out that Monica was in charge of a troll account, Reality Von Tease, and had been attempting to take down the criminal Jen Shah with some other people. The “receipts, proof, timeline, receipts” were all laid out in front of us, forcing Monica to disappear into the shadows. However, she is back with a new man and a baby on the way.

Monica took to her Instagram after her appearance on The Viall Files podcast to confirm some surprising news with followers. The mother of four is expecting again with her boyfriend, Braxton Knight.
Monica posted a video of her opening and using a pregnancy test with the caption “Yes. I already have four girls. No. I was not planning on being 39 and going through the baby stage again, but unexpectedly, here I am.”
The video was emotional as she dipped each test in her urine and cried when they started saying positive. Monica wrote, “For everyone making hateful comments and judging me as a mother, immediately deleted and blocked. I will not intake the negativity coming at me over a baby. To everyone else, THANK YOU.”
New beau who this?
Braxton is just 29 and an avid outdoor lover. With 10 years between Braxton and Monica, seeing how they work together as parents will be interesting. Currently, Braxton is the general manager of Wasatch Excursions in Utah. At work, Braxton gives guided or self-guided tours of the Heber Valley in the fall and the mountains in the winter.
He first met Monica when she filmed her snowmobile scene with Heather Gay. Braxton is also from the Mormon faith but no longer practices it. While Monica was excommunicated for the affair, Braxton left on his own accord. Sadly, Braxton’s Instagram is private, but Monica follows him. Reality Tea found his Facebook, and one thing is clear: the man loves the outdoors.
He also likes to travel and has been spotted in New York City, California, and Utah. It is safe to assume he resides in Utah, too, since he has a long-standing job.
How did Monica meet her new boyfriend?
Monica revealed how the couple met while on Nick Viall’s podcast, The Viall Files. The story isn’t as cut and dry, with Monica admitting that Braxton was “dating another woman at the time” but insisting that the romance was “not exclusive.” Monica explained, “When we had a break, I went over to him, and I was like, ‘Do you have a girlfriend?’ And he said, ‘No, I’m dating someone.’ I said, ‘Yeah, I heard you’re courting! But you’re not exclusive?’ And he’s like, ‘No.'”
As they say, the rest is history because Monica snagged his phone and entered her digits. Monica and Braxton have actually been dating for over a year, but she wanted to keep it a secret after the RHOSLC fallout. As for the pregnancy, Monica noted, “We weren’t trying, I was on birth control, it was a complete shock. We didn’t ever plan on really having kids. And then the second we found out, he just was so protective and so caring.”
However, Monica, being Monica, admitted to telling Braxton about her pregnancy in a very unorthodox way, sharing, “I kinda f*cked up. I did him so dirty when I told him. I was leaving on a work trip, and I was on a plane. He was like, ‘I love you so much,’ and I was like, ‘I’m pregnant,’ and then turned my phone on airplane mode for takeoff.”
I hope, for their sake, they figure out how to communicate before their newest edition arrives! Congrats to both Monica and Braxton. We’re anxiously awaiting Rihanna’s thoughts on the news…
