Dr. Paul Nassif has an urgent message for Gypsy Rose Blanchard. Following her recent nose job, the Botched star is urging her not to get carried away.
Sometimes following a first surgery, people can find themselves addicted to cosmetic procedures. They can fall into a rabbit hole of seeking perfection, which can leave them looking “botched” and needing his and Dr. Terry Dubrow’s help.
He hopes Gypsy Rose, who underwent a rhinoplasty and septoplasty in Louisiana last week, won’t succumb to that temptation. “If it is done properly,” he says, “then hopefully, she’s gonna have a fantastic outcome and like her results.”
Mother knows best
Gypsy Rose’s early life was dominated by her controlling mother. Dee Dee forced her daughter to fake illness for sympathy, attention, and money. As depicted in the Hulu series based on her life, Gypsy was forced to live in a wheelchair. She also endured unnecessary medications and surgeries. She was isolated from everyone except her mother and wasn’t allowed to have friends.
There was never anything wrong with Gypsy other than her mother relishing the attention she got for being a “martyr to her sick child.” Finally, Gypsy persuaded her online boyfriend to help her murder Dee Dee so that she could have her own life.
Gypsy served ten years in prison, while her accomplice, Nicholas Godejohn, got life in prison.
While still in prison, Gypsy married Ryan Anderson, a special education teacher who wrote to her during her time in jail. She filed for divorce only three months following her release from prison. Now she’s starring in a Lifetime docuseries based on her life after lockup.
Change on her own terms
Now critics are wondering if going through a divorce and starring in a Lifetime series isn’t too much too soon for Gypsy just months after getting out of prison. But Dr. Paul is in her corner. Speaking to TMZ, he said, “No, if she wanted it done, it doesn’t matter when she gets it. Whatever makes her feel good.”
Dr. Nassif believes Gypsy should be allowed to make changes to her life–and her appearance–on her schedule. As long as she doesn’t go overboard and get Botched.
