Amanda Batula Ready To Move Away From New York City, but Husband Kyle Cooke Unsure

Lindsay Hubbard and Carl Radke weren’t the only Summer House couple addressing major issues on Season 8. Amanda Batula and Kyle Cooke seemed at odds at times with issues about their living situation and its comparability with starting a family.

First, the Loverboy founder spoke about not being in sync with his wife, and as such, they suspended the idea of getting pregnant. Another issue during the latest episode is Amanda’s desire for an outdoor living space and to move away from New York City.

Kyle doesn’t want to be “cut off from society”

The couple addressed the issues during the latest episode of the Summer House After Show. Regarding Amanda’s interest in buying “an investment property” in the suburbs, Kyle shared that he’s “not ready to leave” NYC. Their surprised co-stars reacted when Amanda told the group she wanted to be able to “get out of the city” for “a week or two or a month at a time.”

The Bravolebrity shared the same revelation during the After Show. “Kyle’s not there yet at all,” she stated.

“I do want a house where my kids can play in a yard and play with their neighbors, but we don’t have kids yet. We’re not even trying to have kids,” Kyle responded.

“I would also feel completely cut off from society — Amanda’s okay with that, I’m not — but the thing that scares me the most is if we prematurely jump out to the ‘burbs, I just feel like I’m gonna be trapped,” he explained. “Amanda’s very content sitting on the couch watching TV. She’s not good at keeping up with her friends and making efforts to be social with them. If I work a lot, I need a social outlet. And I would feel completely cut off from society.”

Have the couple found a compromise?

This dialogue only adds to the argument that Kyle and Amanda are disconnected about their future. Kyle repeatedly mentioned the word “partnership” when discussing their issues on Summer House.

“We’re not truly functioning as this partnership where it’s like, ‘Alright, you do this, I do that. I’m gonna work and pay the bills, you can help and cook dinner,'” the reality TV star said during the After Show. “I just feel like there’s so much onus on me.”

“Taking on the responsibility of owning a house” is something that Kyle “can’t even imagine” given his current workload. Loverboy recently started expanding into alcohol-free drinks.

“I just feel like if home ownership is like anything else in our relationship, everything is gonna fall on me,” he added.

As a compromise, the couple is considering “getting a different apartment in a different neighborhood that has outdoor space [and] is more family-oriented.”

Kyle suggested “a work-live space” that would dually function as Loverboy HQ. He even scooped out a three-story space.

“The first floor would be everyone working, and then the second floor was the bedroom, and the third floor was the kitchen [and] living room,” he shared his vision.

Amanda, however, was less enthusiastic about it.

Perhaps Summer House viewers will see them resolve this matter in the next season of the show. Until then, the hunt for inner peace, and a new living space that they can agree on, continues.
