We have a new Bachelorette! Season 21 is coming soon, and ABC just confirmed that Jenn Tran will be the lead of the 2024 season. She’s the first Asian woman to land the lead role in the long-running series, and let’s be real, this is long overdue.
Season 21 has its star
The news of Jenn’s casting arrived after Daisy Kent, The Bachelor Season 28 runner-up, turned down the gig. During the After the Final Rose special, host Jesse Palmer asked her if she was ready to take on another shot at love. She had a very solid reason for turning it down. She simply didn’t want to.
“My life, the last year, has been crazy. I mean, yesterday, it’s weird, it was the one year of me getting my cochlear implant, which completely changed my life,” Daisy shared.
She continued, “Also, I went through this, and as great of an experience it was, it was also really, really hard. I’m healthy and I’m happy. I haven’t had those two things in a really long time. And so right now, I know it’s a time for me to focus on the things I love and the people I love.”
When Daisy turned down the role, producers sought out Jenn, the 25-year-old physician assistant student to take the role. That came as a bit of a shock to some of Bachelor Nation. All season long, fans expected it to be either Daisy or Maria Georgas. Instead, they snagged Jenn, who got eliminated from The Bachelor Season 28 before the hometown visits.
When discussing her second shot at love, Jenn said that she wanted to end up with a ring on her finger by the time it was all said and done. She has a goal in mind, and these guys better treat her right in Season 21. She said she was feeling hopeful.
Jenn said, “I hope I find my person someone that I truly feel like is 100% — my perfect match and someone who I’m compatible with someone who he and I can have fun.”
Season 21 of The Bachelorette will air on ABC later this year.
