Once again, a member of the Real Housewives club has been arrested for an alleged DUI. The Real Housewives of Potomac’s Grand Dame, Karen Huger was charged with driving while under the influence of alcohol and driving a vehicle while impaired by alcohol. And that incident has reignited the feud between The Real Housewives of Orange County stars Tamra Judge and Shannon Beador.
As you may recall, in September 2023, Shannon drove into some person’s home, with her poor dog Archie in the car. Archie emerged unscathed, but Shannon suffered a broken arm and some facial injuries. She was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and hit-and-run. Although Shannon was offered free rehab stays, she chose another path. “But what I chose to do — and I did my research, I went to a behavior wellness place,” Shannon explained. She attended an out-patient program, called “intensive outpatient therapy” which ran “five days a week.”
Some people didn’t feel that Shannon did enough to address her alleged issues with alcohol. Tamra started a feud with Shannon and Vicki Gunvalson by pulling out of the Tres Amigas tour. Tamra felt it was too soon to be touring after Shannon’s DUI. But the other two amigas didn’t agree.
Is Tamra shading Shannon’s DUI?
Tamra and her co-host Teddi Mellencamp discussed the plight of housewives and their DUIs on their podcast, Two Ts In A Pod. At the top of the screen above Tamra, were the words “BE SMART PEOPLE!” Tamra asked, “What do you think Bravo should do with housewives that get DUIs?”
Teddi replied, “I don’t think somebody should necessarily be fired for making a mistake like that.” But Tamra wasn’t done. “What if they’re not getting help? And what if they’re still drinking?” she asked. Does any of this sound familiar, Shannon?
“I think that if somebody is getting to a place where they could hurt themselves or other people…” Teddi said. “Mmhmm…,” Tamra commented. “That is a problem but it’s not necessarily your boss’ job to handle it,” Teddi concluded.
The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 18 is filming and will return to Bravo in 2024.
