Kristen Doute is back, baby! As it turns out, the former Vanderpump Rules star didn’t have any problem adjusting to coming back to the reality TV scene after a four-year hiatus.
Kristen was an original cast member of VPR but after eight seasons, she got the pink slip from Bravo. Both Kristen and castmate Stassi Schroeder were very publicly fired over their role in recklessly calling the police on fellow Pump Rules SURver Faith Stowers.
But with the renewed interest in the show, the long-rumored series The Valley has finally come to fruition. Kristen recently told Rolling Stone what it was like to get back in front of cameras.
This is a new Kristen
Kristen shared, “It’s just like riding a bike. I did this for 10 years of my life. It wasn’t as simple as I thought it would be but it was very natural at the same time.” She added, “I had an ample amount of time to really work on myself, feel comfortable with myself, and confident that I was ready to have my voice be heard again.”
Since her reality TV exit, Kristen minded her business and was out of the spotlight, despite continuing her friendships with VPR castmates. Until Scandoval hit. Kristen reemerged to support close friend Ariana Madix in the midst of longtime boyfriend Tom Sandoval cheating on her.
Kristen filmed a scene with Ariana in the aftermath of the affair and made a few appearances to talk about her thoughts on the matter. And she had plenty considering that Sandoval was once her cheating boyfriend too.
Don’t expect VPR 2.0
But that doesn’t mean that the 41-year-old will be trying to conjure up the drama that Scandoval has delivered.
“I did not feel any pressure from Scandoval to try and make a good reality show. I know this cast and I think when we’re having fun and things are light-hearted that’s a beautiful thing to watch, but without failure, it turns on a dime,” she concluded.
The Valley continues Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
