Vanessa Lachey is singing a different tune after she dragged Trevor Sova during the Love Is Blind Season 6 reunion.
“I don’t know that he really understood the scope of it, and I’m hoping that he does now and sees that could be hurtful to both women,” she told People.
Vanessa said Trevor’s actions were unfair to the rest of the Love Is Blind cast
Vanessa’s comments arrived after Netflix aired the Season 6 reunion on March 13. During the episode, Trevor was approached about the rumors suggesting he was in a committed relationship with another woman prior to entering the pods.
“I think Trevor is figuring himself out, and I think he didn’t realize the scope of what this meant, either,” Vanessa added. “He does talk about that at the reunion, and this is something that Nick and I really try to emphasize when we first see them in the pods: ‘Be honest for yourself, so you can allow yourself this true experience, and to find that person that loves you no matter what.”
Season 6 of Netflix’s hit series featured several engagements and just as many broken hearts. Trevor experienced heartbreak when his No. 1 choice, Chelsea Blackwell, chose another contestant, Jimmy Presnell, as her partner.
After fans watched the tough moment unfold, they rushed to Trevor’s defense. However, support quickly turned to opposition when the reality star’s alleged girlfriend released text messages. These showed Trevor admitting to playing pretend for the cameras.
According to Vanessa, lying to yourself and others for the sake of exposure isn’t what the show is about. “It’s just not fair to everyone if you’re holding back or lying to other people there,” she said.
“And also, that was a position that maybe another guy could have had, that maybe someone else could have met their partner. You know, all the other women who didn’t meet a guy, maybe that spot that he took could have been another guy. But maybe he didn’t think that way.”
When Trevor was asked to speak his truth at the reunion, the 31-year-old froze. Literally. “You’ll have to watch his reaction at the reunion and deduce your own reasoning for his thought process,” Vannesa teased. “But yeah, human nature is fascinating, and I think that’s also a wonderful reason this works, so we shall see.”
Love Is Blind Seasons 1-6 are available to stream on Netflix.
