It’s the second weekend that Carl Radke and Lindsay Hubbard joined the rest of the Summer House group for what was supposed to be fun in the Hamptons. Yet for the second time in Season 8, the formerly betrothed couple got into a heated argument that was impossible for their cast mates to ignore.
There were repeated accusations of “gaslighting” from both parties and questions about what and how much of it was consumed. In the case of Carl, the topic struck a nerve as he had been living sober for some time.
Fans and co-stars were shocked by it all. But perhaps less shocked by Carl breaking up with her after filming for Season 8 wrapped.
The two both questioned each other’s intake
During the March 14 episode, Carl and Lindsay fought in the Lyft on the way home. They left the group early after the Loverboy employee felt tired. By the time they got home, it was strife all over again. With the same bullet points. Lindsay felt that her then-fiance was under the influence.
“You accused me of doing drugs again,” Carl said to Lindsay the next morning. “[It’s] so f–ked up.”
He also brought up Lindsay’s combative nature while drinking. It felt as if the two were evening the score.
It went between Lindsay saying, “What are you on?” and him replying, “How many drinks have you had?”
The former publicist defended herself by specifying that she was asking about weed and nothing else.
Carl denied smoking weed that night.
“Carl, do you smoke weed? Did you smoke weed tonight?” Lindsay asked during the episode. “You are the biggest gaslighter I’ve ever met. You’re literally like Tom Sandoval right now.”
The Hubb House owner then sought the ears of co-star Amanda Batula to announce, “He’s literally the biggest f–king gaslighter I’ve ever met.”
Team Lindsay or Team Carl?
“He is a f–king terrorist,” Lindsay added. “I’m like, ‘What the f–k? Why are you this aggressive with me?’ Then all of a sudden, he switches the narrative, like, ‘You’ve been drinking.’”
Despite suggesting that Carl was “picking” a fight with her in the car, the Bravolebrity called her ex-fiance the “most amazing human ever” though with “a lot of demons and those demons come out on me.”
She went so far as to call it a “Jekyll and Hyde, smoke and mirrors situation.”
“I’m not joking. I’m the only one on earth who has seen his bad side,” Lindsay made the sinister allegation.
Public opinion seems to be on Carl’s side, and there is more understanding as to why he wanted to film the break-up. Season 8 is only four episodes in with the promise of more drama.
