In a sneak peek preview for Summer House Season 8, Episode 4, Lindsay Hubbard raised some eyebrows with a strange toast when the group went out for dinner. “Good vibe,” the PR specialist said, raising her glass. “But on the real, I’m really enjoying like, this camaraderie with the group. I think the boys bringing in boy energy is great.”
In response to her recognition, the guys — Kyle Cooke, Jesse Solomon, West Wilson, and Carl Radke — jokingly began to bark. Dogs in the House! “Did you hear Carl’s bark?” West asked, referring to Lindsay’s then-fiancé.
Lindsay snapped, “I don’t want to hear Carl’s bark because I might give the ring back.” Huh? That went south fast. She was probably already a few drinks in at that point.
Inappropriate much?
In People’s exclusive sneak peek of the episode, Amanda Batula and her husband Kyle seemed shocked by Lindsay’s weird remark. “What?!” Kyle asked in confusion, though no one else seemed to notice the snark.
Lindsay merrily continued. “I feel like hanging out and enjoying each other’s company and doing things together, like, I feel like we didn’t have last summer, especially us,” she said to Danielle Olivera. “And I feel like we’re doing great.”
“We are on a different path than last summer,” Gabby Prescod agreed.
As for Lindsay and Carl, she actually did give the ring back after Carl called off the wedding at the end of the summer. Lindsay told Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live that her ex “demanded” the ring back in an email.
“There’s New York law, and then there’s etiquette,” she said. “In New York, there’s a law with engagement rings that says … it’s a contingency gift, contingent upon there being a wedding and a marriage. If there is no wedding and marriage, the gift belongs to the giver, so legally the ring belongs to him.”
Lindsay admitted that she took her ring off not long after the breakup and “gave it to my jeweler for safekeeping.” Carl retrieved the 4.02-carat Nicole Rose ring from her jeweler.
