Dan Gheesling couldn’t hold on after battling it out with Phaedra Parks during Season 2 of The Traitors. The Big Brother winner had one of the coveted roles as Alan Cumming’s Traitor, tasked with wreaking havoc in the castle and evading suspicion. But his co-stars began questioning his true identity when he played too chill of a game.
In a last-ditch effort to save himself, he threw his fellow Traitor, Phaedra, under the bus, hoping to survive. But as he found out, he was sorely mistaken. The Real Housewives alum, who’s also a practicing attorney and funeral director, came prepared and, as Dan said at the reunion, “carved” him up.
It was actually quite poetic. “I do too much ’cause you do too little. But tonight, you’re doing way too much because you know you’re getting ready to get banished. So, you’re trying to put the heat on me. Which is a crock of BS,” Phaedra told him during the intense moment that ended with his banishment. Since then, Dan has faced a lot of backlash from the Bravoverse for ruining Phaedra’s game. In fact, it was so bad that it made him never want to do another reality show again.
Dan has quit TV for good
In a post to X, formerly known as Twitter, Dan told the world that he was done with reality television following his appearance on The Traitors reunion hosted by Andy Cohen.
“I hope you enjoy because this is the last time you will see me on TV,” he captioned a photo of him. Some users were happy to read the last line. One commenter wrote, “Good. You should be done after blowing up Phaedra’s game for no reason.” Dan’s Big Brother co-star, Janelle Pierzina, replied, saying, “Dan stop don’t say that.”
Andy teased earlier in the week that Dan had looked like he’d seen a “ghost” due to his nerves before filming the reunion. “I went up to Dan. He looked at me. He looked like he had seen a ghost, and I’m telling you, I think he was shaking a little bit,” he said.
The sit-down aired last night alongside the season finale, and Phaedra did have some choice words for Dan. Along with calling him a “piece of sh*t,” the Married to Medicine cast member also said he’s a “low-down son of a bitch.”
