Scheana Shay is exhibiting the messiest of emotions on Vanderpump Rules as she struggles to define her friendship with Tom Sandoval in the wake of Scandoval. It’s between warming up to him, and justifying her feelings to herself. ”
On the one hand, it’s obvious that she brings her feelings to Ariana Madix in order to get some sort of approval from Sandoval’s ex-girlfriend. The Something About Her co-owner made it clear that she would not be friends with anyone that also communicated with her ex.
So, what VPR fans are getting is a disconnect between Scheana being heard, and Ariana’s disregard for anything to do with Sandoval.
Scheana initially felt she “could open up” to Ariana
It’s a realization that Scheana had to come to, though it’s clear she doesn’t feel great about it. Viewers of the Pump Rules After Show got to see the Good As Gold singer’s comments on the matter during a recent episode.
“Apparently, they’re not my audience when it comes to anything I’m feeling when Tom Sandoval is involved,” Scheana said of her co-stars Ariana, and Katie Maloney.
Producers then added a clip from the VPR episode in question when Scheana called the two restauranteurs to update them on the Lake Tahoe trip.
“I can’t keep hating him for you. I’m mad that he did all of this, because I miss him. I miss my friend,” Scheana said through tears.
“Yeah, that sucks,” Ariana responded in monotone.
During the After Show, Scheana shared how she felt comfortable to speak frankly, but then was shut down.
“I felt like I could open up to them because we were in a good, close place. But then, that immediately made me feels stupid. I don’t think they cared because it’s not about me,” she stated.
Ariana was also asked to respond to the FaceTime call during the After Show. She comes off as surprised by all of Scheana’s emotions.
“I think I’ve been very understanding,” the Chicago star said. “I don’t know what else I need to do.”
