Anyone who’s seen Mob Wives knows that Renee Graziano was not one to battle with. However, she’s sadly battled with her sobriety and the law since the series finale in 2016. She’s had several stints in rehab.
The latest was after a tragic drug overdose in May 2023 that came dangerously close to taking her life.
Renee got candid about the harrowing details of her overdose in an episode of Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast. Here’s what she had to say.
Renee Graziano on her fentanyl overdose: “I died in a restaurant in Florida”
Renee was the latest guest on Bunnie XO’s Dumb Blonde podcast and offered a glimpse into her near-death experience. She recounted the terrifying ordeal of ingesting a drug – she revealed in the clip it was cocaine – that she didn’t know was laced with fentanyl.
She shared that at that time in her life, she “couldn’t come up for air.” Problems with her family and relationships continued “piling up, and piling up, and piling up.”
Renee explained that she was shocked to find out the drugs were laced. She figured everything would be fine since the person who helped her get them vouched for the dealer.
Renee also highlighted the direness of the situation, disclosing, “I died in a restaurant in Florida.” She lost her memory for three days following the overdose and spent nine days in the hospital. According to Renee, her relationship with her family was so strained by that point that they didn’t even come to visit her.
The aftermath was grueling. Renee had to relearn basic motor skills, including how to walk. However, it was this traumatic, rock-bottom experience that served as a catalyst for her to finally confront and overcome her addiction.
Following the incident, Renee sought treatment at Lamar Odom’s treatment center, the Odom Recovery Group, in November.
She says she’s been sober since, and is committed to staying that way. Say what you will about what an absolute menacing figure she was on Mob Wives, but it’s great to know that she’s ready to reclaim her sobriety, and in turn, her life.
