Tom Schwartz has been dreaming of what the future holds. Even though his present might still need some fine-tuning, in particular, his relationship with Tom Sandoval. Schwartz has stuck by Vanderpump Rules’ public enemy number one, even after everything that has happened since Scandoval.
His loyalty is somewhat admirable but it hasn’t done much for his public image. Even the business that the two Toms operate, Schwartz & Sandy’s, took a major hit in the wake of Scandoval.
As such, Tom stepped back to become a silent partner, hoping it might help the brand’s image remain intact. As it turns out, Schwartz has his own hopes for a business separate from Tom.
Will Schwartz move on from Sandy?
In speaking with Bravo on February 20, Schwartz admitted, “I low-key think that I want to open at least one more bar,” clarifying, “But just like a dive bar, bare bones.” Despite the desire, he has no fixed plans to open another establishment at the moment. Just hope.
However, even though the future bar is still unplanned, Schwartz had some details in mind: “maybe like 800 square feet” with “ideally no food.” He emphasized that last point by saying, “Just a good old-fashioned, quirky little dive bar.”
Schwartz also spoke on his co-owned establishment with Tom, Schwartz & Sandy’s. “I’m very proud of what we have now,” he shared. “It’s just tough. It’s a brutal business … but I keep coming back for more.” Hm. Wonder what made it so brutal.
Schwartz also credited his mentors, like Lisa Vanderpump, Greg Morris – one of Schwartz and Sandy’s owners – and his own father who “opened a bunch of bars.” To that point, Schwartz added, “I don’t know how much I believe in fate, but it kind of feels fated, inevitable that I was going to be in this industry.”
Vanderpump Rules Season 11 continues Tuesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
