Even before ABC confirmed its plans for The Golden Bachelorette, fans of The Golden Bachelor speculated on who the first leading lady might be. Some signs pointed to Susan Lucci, who, as it turns out, is quite a fan of The Bachelor.
The soap opera legend became an unlikely candidate for the show when an insider leaked that the network was considering her. They said, “ABC sees Lucci as the perfect candidate because of her age appropriateness and the widely known narrative about losing her longtime spouse.”
The source added, “Her personal journey is a compelling storyline that will resonate with audiences. Making the widow’s quest for love heart-warming to watch.” Now, Susan’s recent interview has turned up speculation once again.
Susan made fun of her mom for watching The Bachelor
In a recent interview with Us Weekly, Susan confessed, “My mother used to watch The Bachelor and I made fun of her. Now, years later, I’m totally addicted to The Bachelor — including The Golden Bachelor!” The fun fact added fuel to the flame of Susan’s rumored role as the upcoming Golden Bachelorette.
Susan gave the admission as one of many fun facts she shared with the outlet. When it came to other reality TV buddies, Susan revealed that one of the most famous people in her book is Andy Cohen. As for things that prospective Golden Bachelorette contestants might want to know about Susan, she had plenty of tidbits prepared.
“My go-to alcoholic drink is champagne!” she said. “The drier, the better.” Her favorite musicians include, “Andrea Bocelli, Charles Aznavour, Lionel Richie, the [Rolling] Stones and Aretha Franklin.” Favorite movies included, “Love Actually, Casablanca, An American in Paris and A Man, and a Woman.”
