The latest episode of Vanderpump Rules featured a heavy conversation between Lisa Vanderpump, Lala Kent and Scheana Shay. The Bravo matriarch expressed concern over Tom Sandoval’s mental health in the aftermath of his affair. She was concerned about him being iced out of the friendship group.
Lisa had tragically lost her brother to suicide, and as such, Lala and Scheana were respectful and receptive to the message. It turned into a conversation between Scheana, Ariana Madix, and Katie Maloney about the same topic. It turns out that the Something About Her co-owners were dismissive of Scheana’s feelings. She became emotional after the subject had her remembering the loss of a friend to suicide.
Scheana was “literally in tears”
Scheana chose to respond during the February 20 episode Pump Rules: After Show while seated with Lala and James Kennedy.
“This is just why there’s certain people I open up to and there’s certain people I don’t want to, because of responses like that,” Scheana said. “I’m trying to say that this conversation I just had is weighing heavy on me and instead of them seeing my feelings or how this is bringing up something else about someone else I lost to suicide years ago, it was just like, ‘Well that’s not fair she did that to you.’”
“I’m literally in tears right now and I just didn’t really feel like anyone, them especially, asked, ‘Is there something else going on,’ ‘Why is this affecting you so much?’” she added.
Lala understood her co-star’s point of view and defended Scheana’s feelings.
“Scheana went through something. Scheana had to say goodbye to a friend that she had known for many years and then come to the conclusion that ‘I don’t know this person at all.’ It has been an internal conflict for her, and no one gives her any grace,” the Give Them Lala podcast host opined.
It feels like this dynamic will continue throughout Season 11.
