Kyle Richards and Mauricio Umansky weren’t the only couple dealing with marital woes on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Their friends Dorit Kemsley and PK Kemsley were also struggling this season. Rumors that the duo split resulted in a statement from PK and Dorit in October 2023. In the statement, they admitted that their marriage “had some challenging years.” They also said that they were never “separated.”
Part of the problem is PK’s indifference to Dorit’s PTSD. In 2021, Dorit was the victim of a terrifying home invasion. She was home alone with her two children and was held at gunpoint. This season, PK attended a therapy session with Dorit. He pledged to be more considerate of Dorit’s anxiety and PTSD. Well, we all know that PK’s promise didn’t last.
Dorit wonders about the future of her marriage to PK
During the Season 13 RHOBH finale, Dorit spoke to PK via Facetime. He was in London and had extended the length of his trip. “PK is still in London for work,” Dorit said in her confessional. “He knew that this white party was on the calendar. He knew how much it meant to me that he was with me.” Dorit told everyone at Kyle’s party that PK was in London.
She continued, “PK can say he’s starting to understand my PTSD better and better, but his actions don’t show it. I love my husband, but I just hope, eventually, something can change, because I have moments when I worry.”
“Will we be able to stay together?” she questioned.
During her final confessional of the season, Dorit once again addressed her marriage. “I think my main takeaway from this year is that PK and I have a lot of work to do. No matter how hard I try, it feels like he’s never going to take me seriously and be as present as I need him to be when I need him,” Dorit said. “And maybe he will never change, but do I have to accept that he won’t? Can I? I don’t know.” Yikes!
In the cast update, it flashed on the screen that PK was in London for 39 days. Basically, he hasn’t been supportive of his wife and her mental health struggles. Being alone exacerbates Dorit’s anxiety, but he doesn’t seem to be receptive to her concerns. Their marriage may be in real trouble.
