Alan Cumming is shutting down the rumors that Phaedra Parks and CT Tamburello may have fallen madly in love while filming The Traitors in Scotland.
The host of the wildly popular reality series recently spoke with People about the fan chatter regarding Phaedra and CT’s seemingly budding relationship.
“I think there’s as much chance of a romance between CT and Phaedra as there’s between me and CT or me and Phaedra, actually,” he said before adding they’re “a funny little odd couple,” who can be quite “affectionate.”
How did Phaedra and CT’s relationship grow while filming The Traitors?
Phaedra has had a lot of power since being appointed one of the titular Traitors at the start of the season, including keeping some of her favorite players safe. That includes fellow Real Housewives star Shereé Whitfield, Mercedes “MJ” Javid, Kate Chastain, Carsten “Bergalicious” Bergersen, and, of course, CT.
Phae has teamed up with the competition beast throughout some of the challenges, hoping to secure more money for their shared pot of gold. However, one of the most talked about moments between the pair so far was the torch-lighting ceremony in a previous episode, which saw Phaedra use the power bestowed upon her to keep The Challenge vet safe. It was a surprising move for some watchers, considering other Bravolebs were up for murder, but according to Alan, it all made sense.
“These people are put into this incredibly emotional and mind-screwy situation, and they’re in this bubble. They don’t have really access to the outside world,” he explained. “Of course, they’re going to become really emotionally involved with each other.”
Even then, “I don’t think just because you hold hands with someone means you’re having an affair with them,” he continued before adding, “If that were the case, I would be having an affair with most of my friends.”
During the latest episode, CT returned the favor and kept Phae safe during the night’s roundtable discussion, resulting in Parvati Shallow’s banishment. So, how will Phaedra repay the MTV legend? We’ll have to wait until the next episode to see how it all plays out.
