Lauri Waring Peterson was introduced to us in the 2006 The Real Housewives of Orange County Season 1 premiere. She was a divorced, single mother of three trying to find her footing while working for Vicki Gunvalson’s then-budding insurance agency.
One of Lauri’s struggles was her teen son Josh Waring’s legal issues leading to time in a juvenile detention center. Lauri’s love and financial life improved after she married George Peterson.
Unfortunately, Josh’s demons followed him into adulthood. He was just arrested again for alleged assault.
Lauri’s son Josh Waring was arrested for allegedly assaulting a hospital security guard
According to The Orange County Register, 35-year-old Josh was arrested on Wednesday, February 14 around 5:45 a.m. in Orange County, CA. Police’s Lt. Phil McMullin said that Josh punched a Chapman Global Medical Center security guard in the chest. This, while being escorted out of the hospital.
Josh already had an arrest warrant for missing a January 2024 check-in after serving time for probation violations. Specifically, failing drug tests and not wearing his GPS device.
Josh has quite the rap sheet. In March 2020, he pleaded guilty to assault with a firearm, evading police, two counts of assault likely causing serious injury, and a misdemeanor hit-and-run/battery charge. This stemmed from his suspected involvement in a 2016 shooting. Josh took a plea deal, so he got time served instead of a potential 65 years.
Josh had some drug possession arrests following that. He also filed a federal lawsuit, claiming that his prison phone calls were illegally recorded. And, he said deputies set him up to get attacked by another inmate. The county settled with him for $595,000 in 2021.
Lauri adopted Josh’s daughter years ago. So, as both a mother and grandmother, she’s probably in dire need of a break from watching this same story play out repeatedly for almost 20 years now.
