It seems that Rachel Leviss had a habit of being in controversial partnerships. Before the atomic blowout that was her months-long affair with Tom Sandoval, there was Rachel’s relationship with James Kennedy.
Not illicit in any way, but there was talk surrounding her relationship with the famed DJ due to his intense verbal outbursts. The British native’s relationship with alcohol was another challenge between the formerly betrothed couple.
Now, with Rachel spilling a lot of tea about her life on her Rachel Goes Rogue podcast, it seems that the subject is being revisited. And her former friend, Scheana Shay, revealed a shocking truth about the split.
Rachel doesn’t want to share her reason for breaking up with James
On the February 16 episode of her podcast, Scheananigans, the Good as Gold singer revealed some truths about a chat she once had with Rachel.
A fan asked, “Rachel has hinted that James was abusive towards her, did she ever confide this in you? And is this the reason for their breakup?”
And while Scheana had “asked [Rachel] point blank about this, multiple times,” the former beauty pageant contestant denied that any physical contact had ever occurred.
“As we’ve all seen on Vanderpump Rules, when James used to drink, he did have a lot of rage and anger. And verbally wasn’t always the nicest. So I knew about the verbal abuse,” the Bravolebrity explained. “Obviously. That was also captured on the show. That’s no secret. But I was like, ‘But has it ever gone further.’ And she swore to me multiple times, ‘Never, never, never.’”
The two had such a close friendship prior to Scandoval, that Rachel even confided to Scheana why she had broken off her engagement with James in December 2021. However, the mother of one is not willing to share that information.
“I do know the real reason why they broke up. She confided in me something that happened right before they broke up. But that is not my story to tell,” Scheana stated.
It seems that former Pump Rules star is not speaking about the matter either, though she has the perfect platform in her Rachel Goes Rogue podcast. Rachel claimed her silence due her not wanting to “ruin” her ex’s life.
“Only a few people know the story,” Rachel teased.
