The fate of Schwartz & Sandy’s rests solely on public opinion. After co-owner Tom Sandoval’s affair with Rachel Leviss became known, patrons started boycotting the restaurant that he opened with Tom Schwartz. Ariana Madix’s supporters flooded Yelp with negative reviews. The Toms were at risk of losing their investment.
But nearly a year later, the bar is still open. Of course, its future remains in doubt, depending on who you ask. And now, there’s been a major update.
The restaurant is in the process of a rebrand
A thread was created on Reddit to discuss whether Schwartz & Sandy’s was still in business after the eatery was closed on Saturday, February 10.
“I went to Schwartz and Sandy’s last night to check it out and they were utterly closed,” the user wrote. “Nothing on the Instagram or website and they were open as of three days ago.”
“You would think they would be open on a Saturday night but the 411 is that they’re closing soon and there were some strange characters outside filming there. Anyone have any information?” was posted.
The U.S. Sun has a different explanation. They revealed that Schwartz & Sandy’s was hosting a private party on February 10.
“Schwartz & Sandy’s is not closing,” an insider stated. “It was closed for a private party and resumes normal operating hours on Tuesday.”
Normal operating hours for the Franklin Village restaurant is Tuesday through Saturday from 5 p.m. to midnight.
Despite the confirmation that Scwhartz & Sandy’s remains in operation, there is a push to rebrand the eatery.
“Greg [Morris] and the Tom Toms have had recent discussions where they sat down and tried to make a game plan of how they can refocus on S&S and just put the past behind them,” an insider explained. “Greg is hoping that people’s minds will change about S&S and it can have a successful comeback.”
Earlier in the month, the Toms organized a photoshoot at the lounge to promote Tom’s Good Lovin,’ their whiskey brand. The insider added that Sandoval has been a more active participant at Schwartz & Sandy’s recently as well.
