Johnny Bananas Could Be ‘Revived’ on The Traitors

For those of you hoping to see Johnny Bananas on another season of The Traitors, you may be in luck.

The Challenge superstar joined the cast of 21 celebrities and Alan Cumming in his Scottish castle for Season 2 of streaming’s most-watched unscripted series. During the premiere episode, the show’s initial Traitors, Phaedra Parks and Dan Gheesling, chose to murder Johnny first, cutting his time short.

Johnny wasted no time taking shots on social media, specifically at the Big Brother winner, claiming his insecurities led him to kill a more strategic player than him. But despite being the first to go, producers recently hinted at a Bananas revival.

Could Johnny Bananas return to The Traitors?

“The beauty of the game is that anyone can go at any point, and we, as producers, don’t have any hand in that, which is actually terrifying but sort of thrilling at the same time,” executive producer Sam Rees-Jones said at the 2024 Television Critics Association Winter press tour. “So to have someone like Johnny Bananas gone in the first episode is a shock because we wanted to see what he would have done. As far as coming back, he was murdered, so.”

In addition to Alan, another familiar face returned to his palatial castle in Season 2 — Kate Chastain. Producers were happy to welcome her back after quickly becoming one of the fan favorites during Season 1. So, does that mean Johnny could see another day, too?

The series’ executive producer, Stephen Lambert, seems to think so. “He can be revived in another season. Who knows?”

Only a few episodes of The Traitors remain; however, the drama will continue during their reunion special, which will occur in NYC soon. Dan and Johnny won’t be the only two facing off, though. After watching the episodes back, Phaedra will likely have words for some of her co-stars, while Janelle Pierzina and Larsa Pippen could have a heated moment, too. Either way, we’ll be sure to keep you updated.

New episodes of The Traitors begin streaming on Thursdays at 9/8c.
