Ding dong, the star of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, is back! And no, this is not a drill. Porsha Williams officially signed her Bravo contract, and we couldn’t be happier. The mother of one snagged her first peach in 2012 as a shy housewife, but grew significantly over the years.
After saying her final goodbye in 2021, fans were worried the series would take a hit. And they were right, it did. But now the lady who gave us the infamous quote “You’re a slut from the 90s” is poised for a comeback, and we bet Kenya Moore is beyond excited to bring out her bullhorn again.
RHOA Season 15 Was Boring AF
I can’t explain just how dull the Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 15 was, but I will give it a try. The drama was never anything new with Kandi Burruss, Drew Sidora, or Kenya. Even Marlo Hampton couldn’t get the ball running after being promoted to full-time housewife. I loved that Shereé Whitfield was back, but again, even She by Shereé didn’t bring the heat. Even though the season had Kenya, all she did was fight with Marlo, which naturally got old quickly.
During Season 15, it often felt as if the drama wasn’t warranted at all. The ladies took a fight from Episode 1 and somehow were STILL harping on it multiple episodes later. And the arguments weren’t even that good! It doesn’t really feel like any of them liked each other. Bravo fans found it hard to feel a real sense of camaraderie like we used to from other, earlier seasons. The friendships all felt forced, leaving fans to care less for the entire cast as a whole. It just didn’t work.
Porsha’s Personal Life is On Fire
After leaving the Real Housewives of Atlanta, Porsha has had a lot on her plate. She first filmed a spin-off for Bravo called Porsha’s Family Matters. She then found herself engaged to Simon Guobadia and married in a 2022 wedding, which fans were livid Bravo cameras missed out on. Porsha has been running her own beauty brand and taking care of her daughter, PJ who fans will hopefully get an update on.
Porsha also participated in the Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, which could have been a tester situation to see if she still had star power. Spoiler alert: she did. But Porsha isn’t back on a normal Real Housewives contract; she signed an overall scripted talent deal with NBCU Entertainment, according to Deadline. The Bravo press release read, “Under the terms of the deal, Williams Guobadia will partner exclusively with NBCUniversal Entertainment for scripted project opportunities across the company’s broadcast and streaming properties.”
This means NBC has faith in Porsha as a talent and will give her more in-house roles, jump-starting her career.
What Could Happen With Season 16
Literally, anything could happen for RHOA Season 16, which is just such a great feeling. Without a doubt, I think Kenya and Porsha will form a friendship since they both have daughters. I also think they will have a few heated moments because it is just in their nature to bicker. I don’t see NeNe Leakes coming back because she burned too many bridges. However, I would be interested in having Sheree and Marlo back in a full-time capacity.
Sadly, I think Sanya Richards Ross can be let go as she is too pure for Bravo. Drew Sidora could be interesting to keep because I think she and Porsha wouldn’t get along in the slightest. If anything, the next big move would be to bring back Phaedra Parks. The two women used to be thick as thieves, Frick and Frack, but after the scandal, they grew apart. It could be a nice chance to try and reconnect on the friendship. Phaedra has hinted that she might be in talks to return as she has done so well on her first season of Married to Medicine. Honestly, I’d be here for a Frick and Frack reunion.
Porsha knows that she has been hired to save the franchise from a total reboot. So the pressure is on, but I believe the mother of one will rise to the occasion. Porsha has snagged her beloved peach back, which has never looked juicer.
