In Lisa Vanderpump’s latest attempts at reasonability, she’s tried to encourage Tom Schwartz to stick up for Tom Sandoval. Of course, Vanderpump Rules fans know that Schwartz has, for ages now, been sticking his neck out for Tom.
Yes, much to the chagrin of Ariana Madix and the rest of the friend group, Schwartz is ride or die for Tom, even after Scandoval. With that in mind, Lisa hoped Schwartz would help Tom as she grew more and more concerned about Tom’s mental well-being.
The goal, in Lisa’s mind, was to help mend the wounds within the friend group, with Schwartz acting as a nurse. Viewers saw how well that went over.
Schwartz says Ariana’s ego is ruining the cast
During the February 13 episode of Pump Rules, LVP chatted with Schwartz about the continued fallout from Scandoval. Lisa confessed that she felt the group was piling onto Tom too hard. “I don’t think the punishment really befits the crime,” she admitted. “Maybe I would feel differently if Ariana wasn’t living her best life. But she’s kind of moved on.”
Lisa urged Tom to “try and help change this whole narrative” around Sandoval. She encouraged Schwartz to invite everyone to the opening of her new restaurant in Lake Tahoe. Schwartz was willing to take the leap, but even he had to admit that Tom “doesn’t make it easy” to encourage group activity.
Schwartz met up with his castmates at SUR later that night to float the idea of a group getaway. James Kennedy wasn’t exactly keen on the idea, but he digressed, saying it would be better for the group to try to reach a point where they could coexist.
Ariana, on the other hand, wasn’t having it. “I don’t want to be anywhere near you nor my ex,” she told Schwartz. When he pointed out that she and Tom were still living together, Ariana reminded him that they don’t truly interact at all. Ariana added, “Listen, I gave up on you a long time ago and my life is better for it. You’re a lost cause.”
Schwartz tried to slam Ariana’s ego, to which Ariana said, “This isn’t going to be a situation where you bridge some sort of gap and he comes back into the fold. This isn’t my ego telling other people what to do and how to feel.” She added that Tom was the one responsible for destroying things as they were with the group.
