I may be dancing in the streets of Miami to “Feel the Rush” after hearing during Super Bowl Sunday that Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan called it quits. There was something about their overly exaggerated PDA that really gave me the ick. I mean, I love my partner, but if he’s going away for five days, I’m going to a spa break, not planning a Welcome Home party. We get it, you’re in love, now get some air.
During their relationship, Larsa clung on to Marcus like he was the fountain of youth. Their 16-year age difference, while a lofty goal for Larsa, seemed a bit too much, even if Marcus was an old soul. I like to think that the Real Housewives of Miami star was holding Marcus’ youth hostage. But in all honesty, their lust probably just fizzled out. But who knew there would be a more talked-about relationship than Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce on Super Bowl Sunday?
Was Larsa Being Petty?
I expected nothing less from the former BFF of the Kardashian Clan when it came to her inevitable breakup with the basketball pro. Fans first started to notice something was off when both Larsa and Marcus’s accounts showed one less friend. It turned out they both unfollowed each other. The next clue was when Larsa posted an Instagram Story that read, “Should your friends unfollow your ex?” Below the text was a poll, which currently stands at 64% for yes.
I’ll just note Lisa Hochstein, Larsa’s RHOM BFF, still follows Marcus. So does her second BFF, Kiki Barth. I’ll leave this information here; discuss it below. Larsa has tried very hard to keep her name unsullied, especially with her divorce from Scottie Pippen. However, I tend to believe that Larsa would have no problem being petty as hell if her heart was broken. I mean, how many more years does she really have before her injections start to fade?
Was Larsa Trying to Fly Below the Radar?
It is more than likely that Larsa thought she could fly below the radar with her extremely quiet announcement. But it seems she has no idea who her fan base is. Bravo viewers were already annoyed that their Sunday shows were pushed off a week, and on top of that, the big football game was boring until the fourth quarter. Even the commercials had us in yawnsville and checking our phones. Bravo fans were bound to stumble onto the IG story and do their due diligence.
Larsa’s plan backfired because fan accounts had all the info up within minutes, alerting anyone who might have missed the breakup. I get that football isn’t Larsa’s forte (obviously, basketball is), but she should have known there would be bored viewers scrolling the internet.
Marcus Is Staying Cool as a Cucumber
For his part, Marcus has stayed pretty mum on the matter. Yes, he has deleted any photos on his social media that included Larsa, but he has yet to post some cryptic story about how he is either heartbroken or living his single life. Arguably, I would have hoped he was jamming to Usher’s halftime show. God knows I was.
On the flip side, Larsa just couldn’t help herself as she posted a thinly veiled warning in her Instagram Story, writing, “The man you choose to be your partner affects everything in your life. Your mental health, your peace of mind, your love inside you, your happiness, how you get through tragedies, your successes, how your children will be raised, and much more. Choose wisely.”
Neither Larsa nor Marcus have spoken out about what precipitated the break-up—or specifically acknowledged it, for that matter. So, I am curious what led to their love bubble popping. Could Michael Jordan really have put his foot down, wanting a younger wife for his son? The world may never know. But the big question is, what is going to happen to the podcast?
