Season 2 of The Traitors has been explosive. From surprise murders, shocking banishments, and unexpected feuds, there’s a reason this series has quickly become the most-watched unscripted series across all streaming platforms.
The cast of 21 celebrities features a handful of Real Housewives, Big Brother stars, Survivor legends, and The Challenge beasts, including Johnny Bananas. Unfortunately for the MTV veteran, though, he was the first contestant murdered by the trio of Traitors (Phaedra Parks, Parvati Shallow, and Dan Gheesling) and wasted no time voicing his opinions.
“What took me out, I mean, I think it’s obvious that the powers that be and the Traitors and the people that had power obviously deemed me as a threat to not just their existence in the game, but I think just their existence on television in general,” Johnny said during the Postmortem. Since then, he’s continued to come after Dan specifically, trashing him for getting ripped to shreds by Phaedra during Episode 6. But what does Dan have to say about his new rivalry? Dan throws shade at his Traitors Season 2 co-stars, thought they were “professionals”
After Phaedra’s epic takedown of Dan during an earlier episode’s roundtable discussion, Bananas had more to say about the former Big Brother winner’s gameplay.
“I take solace in the fact that I never had a chance to play,” Johnny said on X, formerly known as Twitter. “Turns out I wasn’t Dan’s biggest threat; his insecurities were. Dude got outplayed by a Bachelor, Bergie, then ate up by a housewife. That wasn’t a banishment it was a MURDER.”
During one of his exit interviews following his banishment, Dan spoke briefly about his feud with Johnny, saying he hopes it’s just for the show. “I like him,” he said on a recent episode of Rob Has a Podcast.
“This is what I’m hoping, and I don’t know because I haven’t talked to him. It’s like wrestling Kayfabe, okay, but also, it’s over. Royal Rumble is over. We’re in the locker room; it’s okay. But I don’t know. That’s what I’m hoping it is, and that’s what I’m thinking it is.”
Dan also commented on Larsa Pippen’s recent feud with his CBS partner, Janelle Pierzina. He added he might have been “naive” before singing on for The Traitors Season 2.
“Seeing some stuff that happened after the show, not just with me, like, people talking about camera time. I’m like, bro, I’m there to play a game. That’s why I’m here. Even Larsa going after Janelle … maybe I was a little naïve. I thought we were professionals; we go play a game and leave. I don’t know.”
