It seems like Erin Lichy opened a can of worms with her recent dig at Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip: RHONY Legacy. The Real Housewives of New York City newbie made a shady comment about the show, and she has now caught the ire of Dorinda Medley and Kristen Taekman. They both issued some “cute” reminders that you have to come correct if you’re going to come for the real, Real Housewives of New York City.
Dorinda and Kristen keep it “cute” with Erin
Erin shaded the original RHONY crew during an interview because rumors were swirling that the legacy cast might be joining the new Housewives for Season 15. Erin shut down that rumor hard and fast.
Then, when asked if she had seen RHONY: Legacy, she simply replied, “It was cute.” Shortly after that clip hit social media, Kristen took to her Instagram to clap back at Erin.
“Cute? Cute’s not the first word that comes to mind when describing RHONY Legacy,” Erin said in a video on her Instagram.
“Maybe that’s the word you use in your 20s and 30s, but when you’re in your 40s, 50s, and 60s, you use words like hot, sexy, stunning. Maybe you should watch all the other episodes,” Kristen continued.
Dorinda reacted to Erin’s video on her Instagram Stories. This drama wasn’t worth a spot on her grid, apparently. It also wasn’t worth putting down the peanut butter and jelly sandwich, because Dorinda was going to town in her video response to Erin.
“You can always call me cute. Just don’t call me dull,” Dorinda said with a wink in her Instagram Stories.
She also commented on Kristen’s post and wrote, “Very dismissive surprising and disappointing.”
Erin backtracks after some backlash
Once Erin realized that the comments were 100% not in her favor, she dialed back on the shade and tried to act like she didn’t mean any ill intentions. She commented under Kristen’s video and claimed that “cute” is just a regular part of her vernacular.
“Meant no disrespect. I love legacy and the OGs,” Erin wrote. “The show was on the lighthearted side, which is why I called it that. I use the word cute all the time. I used it at dinner last night 5 times and everyone kept poking fun of me.”
Erin proceeded to give credit to the RHONY OGs and she called them “incredible,” which is a much stronger adjective than “cute.” So, kudos to Erin for correcting herself here. There is a pecking order to follow, after all.
