Katie Maloney filed for divorce from Tom Schwartz in between filming for Vanderpump Rules Seasons 9 and 10. “After 12 years together and five years of marriage, I went to Tom last winter and asked him for a divorce,” Katie said during the very first scene of Season 10’s premiere on Bravo. On their split, Tom seemed sad and surprised, but we weren’t. Their pairing was toxic.
Neither party ever felt supported or heard. Schwartz also always sided with Tom Sandoval, never with his wife. That was always hard to watch, especially because Sandoval mostly seemed to despise Katie. Luckily, Katie is now thriving, and we love that for her.
As for Tom, he’s not faring too poorly either. In fact, his dating pool has (thankfully) expanded since his staged make-outs with Rachel Leviss on Season 10. As for these gross little sessions, ugh, because on the second episode of her podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue, Rachel revealed that Tom had known right from the jump about her affair with his bestie Sandoval. This means that every kiss she shared with Katie’s now-ex was indeed fake, as most of us had suspected.
This also means that Rachel and Schwartz’y were never an item, like, not even a little bit. Yet, Tom has actually attempted to move on with several other women, and these were all very real encounters, or so we think. As for who the VPR star has found love in a hopeless place with, here is Tom Schwartz’s dating history after his divorce from Katie was finalized.
Tom’s First Post-Divorce Date Was Named Kendall
We never got to see Tom go on a real date during Season 10. This is because his storylines seemed to typically merge with Sandoval’s. Therefore, Tom spent this entire season in that weird fake crush with Rachel. Finally, on a special Secrets Revealed episode of VPR, which aired on June 14, 2023, we saw Tom go on his first actual date post Katie.
“Kendall, I met her on this dating app. We matched and we decided to take it to the next level,” Tom sheepishly said on-air. As for how he felt on this date, Tom admitted that he was a bit nervous, as it had been “12 years since [he had] been on a date with someone other than Katie.” After this date though, Kendall seemed to disappear from Tom’s world, with no real indicator given as to why, other than maybe this was just his way of getting back out there.
“You know, it’ll always be my first date after my divorce,” Tom stated. Basically, Kendall was just the first on Tom’s list in terms of his post divorce dating lineup.
Tom and Jo Wenberg Then Had a Vague Relationship
During Part 1 of the Season 10 reunion, Tom admitted to being somewhat involved with his former roommate, Jo Wenberg. You know, Kristen Doute‘s “crazy” former friend. To help explain what he meant by this, Tom stated that “it did evolve into a situationship, or like a friends-with-benefits thing with clearly defined boundaries. We were both coming out of long-term relationships, and for a minute there, we were each other’s happy place.”
Currently, Tom and Jo are no longer an item. Yet, Jo filmed for the Vanderpump Rules Season 11 finale episode. From the looks of the leaked footage, she and Katie had an intense conversation. Overall, it seems like Tom’s second stab at dating failed, but it’s all good, as there are other fish to catch in LA’s plastic pond(s).
Next, Tom Made Out With Below Deck’s Katie Flood
We love a good Bravo crossover. Tom brought us this very thing when he began to crush on Katie Flood, a Below Deck alum, during their time spent filming for Winter House Season 3. While her first and middle names equally triggered Tom, as his ex-wife is also a Katie Marie, he eventually got over it. The pair were then caught, several times, making-out.
Even though Tom and Katie 2.0 are no longer a thing, we don’t think that this is a dead-in-the-water relationship just yet. You see, after filming, Tom appeared on Watch What Happens Live, where he continued to gush over all things Floody. “She has this iconic, timeless look … [she has] the essence of an early ’90s supermodel…she’s sophisticated and very competent, but she has a great sense of humility,” he expressed.
Interesting. All we can do now is wait and see if Tom circles back to this second Katie.
Finally, VPR Season 11 Teases a Love Triangle for Tom
Recently, the extended preview for Vanderpump Rules Season 11 dropped. In this, it shows both Katie and Tom each kissing a new potential partner. Wildly, their person of interest is the same. This pink-haired, seemingly fun woman is an actress and singer named Tori Keeth, and she will be featured in several scenes, or so it appears, throughout this upcoming season.
Tori actually has ties to several of the cast members, both past and present. This includes Rachel, Kristen, and Ariana Madix, as well as both Katie and Tom. To be clear though, Tori and Rachel are no longer buds. In fact, Tori’s negative feelings on Rachel can be seen in this remastered TikTok.
While we will have to wait and see who wins in this interesting love triangle involving Katie and Tom, it doesn’t appear that either are currently dating Tori. Unless the producers have asked all parties involved not to post any spoilers, that is.
Tom’s Current Relationship Status
US Weekly caught up with Tom while he was walking the red carpet at the VPR Season 11 premiere party. Here, Tom was asked if he “was still talking to Katie from Winter House.” Tom replied “We’re not dating…we still hang out, but we’re not dating…I’m single.”
There you have it. Tom’s quest for love following his divorce from Katie remains on-going for the near foreseeable future.
