Rachel Leviss Taking A Year Off Dating

Rachel Leviss is having her say, thanks to the launch of her podcast, Rachel Goes Rogue. Some of her former co-stars, such as Katie Maloney, suggested that she should have returned to Vanderpump Rules to do so.

Regardless, Rachel chose to podcast and has shared her experience of having a months-long affair with Tom Sandoval. Drawing on what she learned during her three month stay at a voluntary mental health facility, the former Bravolebrity is speaking about her mental health and the decisions she is making now to ensure a healthier future.

Rachel is “just focusing” on herself, rather than dating

Most recently, Rachel welcome psychologist Dr. Hillary Goldsher onto her podcast to discuss the connection between love and validation. It was then that the former Pump Rules star decided not to enter any kind of love relationship for a year.

“You said something very interesting with the validation coming up in our love relationships,” Rachel said. “Going forward, realizing that through my therapy process, I’m not dating for a year. In doing that, I’m just focusing on myself.”

It’s a positive move, especially considering Rachel’s relationship with Sandoval and how she felt heavily influenced by him. Rather, the healthier thing to do, and one that Rachel feels good about is “not adding an additional person in the equation.”

The former beauty pageant contestant is instead focusing on familial relationships and trusted friends to act as advisors. Rachel described plans to rely on “friends and family and the people that are in my inner circle that are safe.”

“But in doing a full year of not dating,” she concluded, “I feel like that’s the gameplan going forward.”

It seems that Rachel’s future is full of opportunity, ready to be shaped in the way she sees fit. While her affair behind Ariana Madix’s back can’t be condoned, it’s nice to see Rachel doing the work to better herself.

Vanderpump Rules Season 11 premieres Tuesday, January 30 at 8/7c on Bravo.
