Below Deck Mediterranean has not been able to retain a chief stew since Hannah Ferrier left in Season 5. Bugsy Drake was the temporary interior boss when Hannah was terminated, but even she did not return after that.
There was Katie Flood, who starred in Winter House Season 3 but did not return to work for Captain Sandy Yawn. Natasha Webb brought a lot of drama with her in Season 7, including a secret fling with chef Dave White. Finally, in the most recent season, Tumi Mhlongo was promoted to chief stew after a stellar review from Captain Jason Chambers. It remains to be seen whether she will return, but Sandy would love to work with her again.
But if Bravo executives were willing to finesse the situation, Hannah revealed that she would be willing to return. So long as she was paired with another captain.
Hannah “would help” other captains in the franchise
Hannah participated in the January 24 episode of the Salty With Captain Lee podcast. Lee Rosbach asked the Australian native if she would be willing to return to the franchise.
“I think Below Deck Med would be a difficult one because I feel like a lot of people thought [the drama leading up to my exit] happened in season 5, but it had been building for a really long time,” she explained. “Since Season 1, [it has been happening].”
Hannah spoke of the time that she reached out to Lee to ask for tips on how to deal with her former boss.
“I was phoning you asking for advice on how to deal with my relationship with Sandy. And I feel like I tried a lot of different tactics,” she said.
There are several other shows in the franchise that the former Bravolebrity could potentially return to. Below Deck being one. Below Deck Down Under would be closest to home, as she lives in Australia. There’s also Below Deck Sailing Yacht, which Hannah did not mention when she suggested joining a different crew.
“So I am not sure it would be conducive to come back to the Mediterranean but I always said if you or [Captain] Jason [Chambers] needed help or were stuck, I would help you guys. I don’t know about [Captain] Kerry [Titheradge]. I don’t really know him so I don’t think I need to help him,” Hannah concluded.
It’s an interesting thought. Let’s see if Bravo executives would pursue this option.
Below Deck Season 11 premieres February 5, 2024.
