During the conclusion of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City Season 4 reunion, viewers expected to hear the full story of Jen Shah giving Heather Gay a black eye during a cast trip last season. Heather spent the last two years bobbing and weaving black eye questions in order to protect Jen. It all continued until the Season 4 finale. There, she finally revealed what we all suspected – Jen was (allegedly) the perp.
But, many viewers were left a bit disappointed with the vagueness and missing details in Heather’s account. We still didn’t get much more besides that Jen did it and alcohol was involved. Jen, for her part, has denied all of this from prison.
At the conclusion of the conversation, reunion host Andy Cohen encouraged Heather to directly address Jen about it, in case she was watching from the clink. Heather did just that and made it very clear that she’s finished keeping Jen’s secrets and serving as her doormat.
Heather’s done protecting Jen
According to Heather, everything about the black eye was fuzzy – except that Jen gave it to her. “Honestly, it was a lot of drinking, and the next morning I woke up with the black eye. I knew I’d gotten it from Jen. I didn’t know how, but I knew I’d gotten it from Jen. She was the first person I texted, she came in the room, she said, ‘Did I give that to you?’ I said, ‘Don’t worry, I’ll cover.'”
The show revealed unseen footage from the morning after. The audio wasn’t clear, but Heather claimed Jen confessed by saying, “I did that to you, I can’t believe I did that to you.” Heather replied, “Don’t worry about it, I got you.” Production noted, “Heather now claims this footage shows them discussing the black eye.”
Heather expressed her fear of Jen and apologized to her castmates and production. The other women in the cast – SLC public enemy #1 Monica Garcia included – said they understood why she kept the secret so long. They gave her some grace for lying to them.
Andy then gave Heather the chance to send a message to Jen.
“I would say, I’m no longer your bitch and I regret believing in you … and I regret turning on all of you in her defense,” she said. “I regret fighting her fight, I regret disrespecting my children, my family and my opportunity here. And I would say I’m glad you’re in prison, or I might not have had the guts to do it otherwise.”
Jen hasn’t responded to Heather’s message. It’s unknown if Jen’s now someone’s bitch in prison.
