The Vanderpump Rules kids are growing up. Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright’s adorable son Cruz has started preschool!
The proud parents, who welcomed their beloved little-one in April 2021, celebrated the milestone with a social media post and gushed about Cruz’s next phase.

Jax and Brittany hope preschool will help son Cruz’s speech
January 9 was Cruz’s first day at preschool. Proud mama Brittany shared pictures to her Instagram. He is seated on a wooden bench at home alongside a monogrammed backpack and lunch box. Brittany’s fashion influence is on display with Cruz’s coordinated outfit. “My whole heart,” she captioned the adorable post.
A board announcing his first day of school reveals Cruz is two-and-a-half years old and loves “apples, elephants, and dinos.” It also said that Cruz wants to be a “paleontologist” when he grows up.
Some of Brittany’s former co-stars also celebrated the event. Kristen Doute commented, “happy first day cruzy!” Scheana Shay posted a series of heart eye emojis.
The proud parents spoke about their decision to send Cruz to preschool in the January 5 episode of their podcast When Reality Hits With Jax and Brittany. During the parent orientation a week prior, Jax claimed to be “scoping out” the other couples, trying to predict whose kids would be friends with Cruz.
As Cruz has speech delays, his parents find his socialization very important.
“Whenever you are dealing with a child who has a speech delay, like we are, having him around as many kids as possible and trying to get him out of his shell a little bit, is going to help him tremendously,” Brittany explained.
“Cruz is in speech therapy. He does that two to three times a week. He is starting occupational therapy and he is starting a group class to help with social anxieties and things like that,” she added.
