Part one of the three-part Real Housewives of Salt Lake City reunion aired last night, and Heather Gay called Monica Garcia out for using Jen Shah to get on the show.
During the finale episode (which has been seen by over two million people), Heather exposed Monica for being the face behind Reality Von Tease, an Instagram account whose mission was to go after Jen, but slowly expanded to attacking the rest of the cast.
In the first reunion episode, host Andy Cohen asked Monica to explain her relationship with Jen. The Salt Lake City newbie said she’d run an extensive amount of errands for the now felon, including grabbing her groceries and making sure she was on time for her meetings. But the biggest gag was that the mother of four explained she wasn’t paid — not even a penny — so why would she work for free? Because Kim Kardashian started out as an assistant.
Being Jen’s assistant was a “stepping stone” for Monica…
“Honestly, she was my friend. She needed help. It didn’t start like that. We were friends first, and I was like, ‘I can help you until you need somebody,'” Monica explained. However, some of her co-stars weren’t buying her explanation in the slightest. Shortly after, Heather called her out for allegedly using Jen to get her so-called “Kim Kardashian” moment.
“I would like you to hear something, Monica, that you said. Just for a little bit of clarity,” Heather said before pulling out her phone to play a voice recording.
“F*cking Kim Kardashian was a f*cking assistant, and look at that bitch now,” a voice that sounds like Monica said on Heather’s phone. “I can fully admit that the whole reason why I was an assistant and putting up with that sh*t was as a stepping stone.”
Monica didn’t back down from the accusations, though, before telling Andy she applied for RHOSLC like everybody else. “I said, ‘My name is Monica Fowler, and your show sucks, and your ratings are sh*t, and it’s going to get canceled cause you don’t have the right cast.’”
“That’s what I said. I’m being honest,” she said before production flashed Monica’s actual email to the casting department.
“Reaching out in regards to your casting call!” the message read. “‘Would love more information on what needs to be done or how to move forward. You guys need a feisty ex-communicated Latina on the show immediately! I’m your girl!’ — Monica F.”
