Below Deck Med’s Max Salvador Confuses Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live

The Below Deck Mediterranean deck crew had a hard time dealing with Max Salvador. He is a unique character, and needed a lot of coddling by bosun Luka Brunton. The French native needed his food and nap time, just like a toddler. Otherwise some hangry feelings came out.

In one notable moment, Max complained about carrying a picnic set up to a castle at the top of a hill. Lara Du Preez had to do the majority of the heavy lifting, as per usual. But his behavior was not isolated to one incident. It seems Max generally had an issue unless we was properly rested, watered, and fed.

And it’s something that a viewer asked the Below Deck Med star about during his recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live.

Max explained why he didn’t help out at the castle lunch on Below Deck Med

Host Andy Cohen asked Max if he regretted, “not pitching in to help set up the castle excursion because you were in bed and tired when Luka radioed you.”

Max answered with his unique enthusiasm. The heavy French accent just adds to the comedic experience.

“Yes. Let’s be clear on that,” he said. “Why a castle is made? It’s to be out of reach right? So imagine, back in the days, like people were struggling on that. And me, I have to set up by myself a picnic to attack a castle.” You’re welcome for the translation.

Max may have made the most genius point in all Below Deck history. A castle was meant to be an impenetrable fortress, not a nosh-spot for some nouveau riche to take Instagram pics. Why send a team up there with a picnic pack? It’s just not realistic.

“Ok so, of course I was tired. Like, the thing is like this,” Max gestured a steep incline. “Obviously, you see, I carried all the bottles and everything.”

He continued to defend his fatigue, as he has made a habit of doing. It didn’t quite make sense, but his enthusiasm helped him pull it off.

“Of course I’m tired. I’m not a Super Outlet. I’m big end, you know? And even Super Outlet will have a tryant,” Max concluded. Not quite sure what that means, but who cares? The accent is all we need.
