Rachel Leviss has faced her fair share of criticism since Scandoval broke. But the former Vanderpump Rules star felt strongly enough about one particular insult that she had to address it. She did so on her newly released podcast.
On her first episode of Rachel Goes Rogue, the one-time pageant queen shared her thoughts on comments made by Dave Portnoy. To paraphrase Yolanda Hadid Foster Hadid, “Who is Dave Portnoy in this world?” He’s the founder of Barstool Sports. It’s a sports and pop culture blog that’s pretty notorious.
Here’s what Rachel had to say in response to his cruel comments.
What’s Dave got to do with it?
Back in November, it was rumored that Dave and Rachel had some form of romance in Chicago when they both happened to be in the Windy City at the same time. He denied it on X, formerly known as Twitter. He wrote, “I can confirm I’ve never met that trash bag in my life and it’s wildly insulting to even be mentioned in the same sentence as her.” Dave then added, “I was eating pizza at Uncle Jerry’s though which was spectacular by the way and got an 8.3.”
Rachel told her listeners, “I didn’t know how to pronounce his name. I’ve heard of Barstool Sports, but I’ve never heard of Dave Portnoy and it’s kind of wild how that story came out on Thanksgiving.”
Further, Rachel noted that they have never had any form of communication. So she doesn’t even know this man, but clearly, he knows her.
“I know I’m not a trash bag”
Rachel took the high road on this one, stating, “I’ve learned a lot about projection and I think he doesn’t know me at all so whatever story he’s made up in his mind is on him. There’s a lot of misinformation about me out there and I think the reason he’s so polarized to me is because he believes a lie that was put out there.”
I’m not sure exactly what lie she’s talking about. Rachel’s being generous in her response, I can say that much. Even if you hate Rachel, this man has a lot of nerve being insulted for being linked to her. I repeat: who is Dave Portnoy in this world? He should be thankful for the free press.
*Writers note: before you all come for me, yes I know that Barstool Sports is a very large and well-known blog. But its content, along with its thirsty founder, is what I take umbrage in. And I love using Yolanda’s classic quote, so.
Back to the story at hand, Rachel wanted to be clear that she wouldn’t let Dave’s comments get to her. “I know I’m not a trash bag. So if he’s saying I’m a trash bag, it’s just rolling off the shoulder because it’s not true,” she stated.
On that note, the podcast hostess dismissed Dave and his insults. She concluded, “I’m such an avoidant person. I wouldn’t want to be in the same room as him, honestly.”
