Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval and VPR alum Billie Lee are on a sugar high right now with the closure of Los Angeles bakery Sweet Lady Jane. What do they have against cake, pies, and salted caramel brownie bites? It turns out they weren’t just upset about the quality of their baked goods. Apparently the bakery joined in on the Scandoval of it all, and Tom and Billie were none too happy about it.
Why are Tom and Billie upset about the bakery?
Season 10 of VPR blew viewers out of the water with the revelation that Tom cheated on his partner Ariana Madix with their supposed best friend, Rachel Leviss. This news became a nationwide phenomenon known as Scandoval. Everyone had an opinion. As it turned out, so did the Sweet Lady Jane bakery.
The bakery began selling “Sandoval’s a liar” cakes right after news of the affair dropped. Their famous triple berry cake had made an appearance on many a Bravo birthday episode. However, they missed giving their Scandoval cake a shot at the spotlight on Bravo.
With news of the bakery closing, it was time for Billie and Tom to have a slice of sweet schadenfreude. Billie wondered if closure of the bakery was, “Karma?” To which Tom replied, “I never had a cake by @sweetladyjanecakeshop that wasn’t super dried out. Maybe people started to catch on?” Ouch!
Tom added, “Also, to charge $$$ selling cakes using my name in negative sangs (sic) on it really hurt my feelings, and almost pushed me over the edge. Good riddance.” If I was insulted on a dry cake I’d be upset too. It should at least taste good!
The bakery’s marketing department then took a hit. Billie replied to Tom, “Well now we know they were desperate to sell cakes but obviously the hateful negative approach didn’t work.” It’s more likely that overpriced cake was their downfall, rather than Scandoval.
