Everything is coming up Vanderpump Rules ahead of the Season 11 premier on January 30. It’s been almost a solid year since viewers watched the shocking Season 10 reunion. And enough has leaked about the cast in real time that has peaked interest in what is coming in the new season.
Katie Maloney, for one, shows promise for sharing her new self with viewers. She and co-star Ariana Madix are opening a sandwich shop called Something About Her. She and her ex-husband, Tom Schwartz. have found a rhythm in post-divorced life and even co-parent their two dogs, Gordo and Butter.
So naturally, fans are ready to cheer Katie on for her next chapter. And what’s the juiciest topic of all? Dating in a post-divorce reality.
Katie speaks of “moments of surviving”
Katie joined Nick Viall recently on his podcast, The Viall Files, to discuss moving on from Tom and what she hopes the future holds for him.
“I would say that there’s moments of thriving, and then there’s just moments of surviving, merely just trying to be in the streets,” she said of dating nowadays. “I mean, sometimes it’s just so grim. It’s like, ‘Wow, this is just really what it is.'”
Katie and Tom were together for twelve years, and there is no doubt that it’s been a learning curve for the Something About Her co-founder.
“The landscape had just totally changed from the time I was 24 to now,” she added. “It changed and it didn’t change. It’s still what can be expected, like men are not OK.”
Despite Tom’s kiss with Rachel Leviss and the difficulties they faced when they first parted ways, Katie wishes nothing but the best for her ex-husband.
“I really want the best for Tom. I want him to be happy, I want him to do well in life,” she said of her hopes for Tom’s future. “But, he is in his own way all the time.”
