Kyle Richards Claims Doctor Refused To Give Her a Tummy Tuck

Tuck what?! Real Housewives of Beverly Hills OG Kyle Richards says she asked about getting a tummy tuck and her doctor basically changed the subject.

“I wanted to get a tummy tuck when I had my breast reduction, and the doctor wouldn’t do it,” she claimed. “He said, ‘We’ll talk about it [later].'” Perhaps he didn’t want to put her through such a major surgery in addition to the breast reduction (which I’ve heard is quite painful). Plus did she really need it?

However, the mom of four found another way to get a flat stomach. “I started doing a Peloton 10-minute abs thing, then 15 minutes every day,” she revealed. Kyle spilled the tea to Us Weekly in an exclusive interview.

Weight loss prompted by intense life events

Kyle’s weight loss journey began in 2022. Following her breast reduction, she wasn’t allowed to work out for eight weeks.

“At the time, I was on vacation in Europe,” she shared, “eating pasta and drinking wine and cocktails. By the end of the trip, I didn’t recognize myself. I had also just lost my best friend to suicide, and I wasn’t taking care of myself. After we left, I said, ‘That’s it. I’m not going to have bad carbs — no sugar, no pasta, no bread, no alcohol. And I’m going to work out every single day.'”

“I started seeing results pretty fast,” the Halloween star continued. “Even though I wasn’t a big drinker, removing alcohol made such a difference in my skin and how I felt. I’ve always worked out, but I was doing the same thing on repeat — I’d go on hikes and spin. I started including weights and running [and] hot yoga.”

Kyle’s efforts to get healthier started around the same time as she and her husband of 27 years, Mauricio Umansky, decided to separate. Some people have called her new look a “revenge body,” but the RHOBH star refutes that idea.

“It’s certainly not meant to be a revenge body,” she insisted. “It’s meant to be an I-feel-good body … As someone who [had] body image issues their whole life, it’s kind of funny that I’d be on the cover of [a diet and fitness] issue [of a magazine]. Growing up with my sisters, they were both blond and skinny … I was brunette and curvy, and I was always trying to be thin. I started working out when I was 15, but I’ve learned to switch things up and what my body needs.”

She just feels better not drinking

Claiming she hasn’t had a drop of alcohol since July 15, 2022, Kyle says she doesn’t miss it and doesn’t see herself ever drinking again. Even though her lifestyle change has been questioned by some of her friends, Kyle is standing strong.

“I think about my daughters and peer pressure,” she said. “Here I am, feeling like I don’t want to be pressured into [drinking again] … I was just like, ‘Guys, I promise you, I am still going to be fun.'”

The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills continues Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
