The Golden Bachelor provided a unique spin on The Bachelor format, and fans certainly took note. Viewers poured in to watch the latest take on the formula, finding the show a wholesome reprieve from other types of reality TV.
Unfortunately, nothing gold can stay. As the show’s first season wound to its end, reports started coming out about the titular Golden Bachelor, Gerry Turner. Multiple outlets reported that Gerry’s backstory on the show had been fabricated. Claims surfaced that Gerry had misrepresented his career and dating timelines.
Amid these reports, fans started turning on Gerry. Despite Gerry’s fall from grace, the televised Golden Wedding event was still on. However, if recent reports are true, even the wedding between Gerry and Theresa Nist might be in jeopardy.
Theresa “wants a prenup” and Gerry is “offended”
On December 25, RadarOnline received reports that Gerry and Theresa were suffering from mounting pre-wedding stress. The reports included claims that Theresa’s friends were encouraging her to think the union through a little further. Despite these alleged warnings from friends, Theresa is reportedly going ahead with the televised wedding plans.
The main source of contention is that Theresa “wants a prenup” according to a source close to The Golden Duo. “He’s offended that she doesn’t trust him. They’re bickering all the time now — unless the cameras are on.” RadarOnline credited the National Enquirer with the information, but a specific report from the outlet is nowhere to be found.
The insider went on, “She wants to stick it out, though her friends think it’s for the wrong reasons.” RadarOnline reached out to The Golden Bachelor reps for comment, but have received none thus far. Whether these reports are true or not, Gerry doesn’t look too good with all these rumors mounting against him. Here’s hoping the pair can find happiness.
