Below Deck fans were saddened when the beloved Captain Lee Rosbach announced he wouldn’t be returning for Season 11. At BravoCon 2023, it was announced that Captain Lee would not be featured in the upcoming season.
However, viewers weren’t too surprised to hear the news of the Captain’s departure. After all, Captain Lee was battling health issues during Below Deck season 10. He actually left the boat mid-season because of a nerve issue that made it hard for him to walk. Captain Sandy Yawn replaced Captain Lee when he left during Season 10, but in Season 11, he will have a different replacement. Captain Kerry Titheradge from Below Deck Adventure will be the captain for Season 11, as revealed in a teaser trailer for the upcoming season.
Some fans may be relieved that a familiar face will be taking Captain Lee’s spot on Below Deck. However, we think that the show will just not be the same without Captain Lee. For starters, Captain Lee has been on the franchise for 10 years, so it’s a huge adjustment to not have him on the show. No other Captain in the franchise has had a similar sense of humor and sass level as Captain Lee. Because of this, Below Deck will definitely be different without his sassiness.

Not only is Captain Lee the sassiest Captain on the franchise, he also delivers the funniest quotes of anyone who was ever on the show. Few people can forget when Captain Lee said he was “madder than a pissed-on chicken” to express his anger. In addition, he was famous for making up hilarious similes to express the situation at hand. Viewers love quoting Captain Lee’s sassy sayings, and the show will definitely be different without them.

This showed viewers the reality of working on a ship with a group of other people.
Being the captain of a yacht is a big job with lots of responsibilities, and viewers were able to see that through Captain Lee’s behavior. In addition, viewers were also able to see how much a crew on such a ship can bond when living at sea together, and they were largely able to see this because of Captain Lee’s leadership skills.
Captain Lee’s sassy quotes plus his ability to portray the reality of being a charter Captain is one of the reasons that the show became so popular. It will likely change when the charter boat is captained by someone with a different management style. However, we’re sure that Captain Kerry Titheradge will do an amazing job as well!
