House of Villains Host Joel McHale Suggests Same Cast Should Return for Season 2

Host of the wildly entertaining House of Villains — a competition show combining reality TV’s most iconic players — Joel McHale has some thoughts on how the series should move forward if there’s a second season.

The new series, which has become E!’s most-watched program since the 2020s, housed television greats like Omarosa, Johnny Bananas, Jonny Fairplay, and Tiffany “New York” Pollard while they strategized, plotted, and backstabbed their way through the game to win $200,000. The finale airs on December 21, and it feels too soon.

Watchers only got a few episodes with marquee cast members Jax Taylor and New York, causing many to beg for a second season. Based on the show’s success and viewership, another go makes sense. But who should play?

In a new interview with The Daily Beast, Joel expressed his remorse for losing star players like New York at the beginning of the series and shared who he’d like to see for Season 2. “My only regret about Tiffany is that she got voted off so early [in Episode 4],” he said.

“My idea if we get to Season 2 is to just bring the same cast back. Why not? They bring the same cast back for all scripted shows. Why not for unscripted?”

House of Villains Season 1 has already given us some iconic moments that we can’t stop thinking about, particularly New York’s back-and-forth with Omarosa and Bobby Lytes facing off against Johnny Bananas. Why not keep the fire going?

“The energy in the room when you get Bobby and Tanisha and New York and Omarosa, obviously Johnny Bananas, Shake … All of them are pros,” Joel explained. “They all know how to play these games. That is f*cking gold. If we get to Season 2, and try to duplicate that cast? I’m just like, ‘Good luck, guys.’ I’m sure they’ll get good folks. But, hey, why not just do it again with all the same people.”

This new series has been one of the best things reality TV has given us this year, and we’re sure a second season would be even better. Sure, bring them all back — but can we also throw some new faces in there to shift the dynamics? Just think what that could be. My, oh my.

The House of Villains Season 1 finale airs Thursday, December 21 at 10/9c on E!.
