Renee Graziano has some benchmarks to celebrate, but first I just need to say how much I miss Mob Wives. The absence of Drita D’Avanzo in my life is noticeable and this is one of the old shows that should probably return.
While Mob Wives brought spectacular drama and a brand new way to use profanity, most of the women on the cast were having personal struggles. Perhaps a loved one was locked up and a known snitch. Maybe someone’s man was running around. For Renee, it was a constant battle with sobriety. A short time ago, Renee fell off the wagon, but now she’s getting help from a very unlikely source. TMZ has the scoop.
The unlikely angel that is Lamar
One of the more surprising sobriety success stories we’ve seen lately is that of Lamar Odom. He turned his life of excess and debauchery into a new order of clean living and helping others. Lamar’s rehab facility might have saved Renee’s life.
Right now Renee is clocking in at 40 days sober and she can thank herself for putting in the work and Lamar for offering his services. She stayed at his rehab in California and is continuing treatment at this time.
As most of us recall, Lamar had his own very long battle with substance abuse. In 2015 he managed to OD at a brothel in Las Vegas and somehow turned that terrifying incident into the beginning of a success story.
Lamar’s rep said he slid into Renee’s DMs on Instagram after media reports revealed a November rehab stint. At the time he made himself available if she needed anything and it looks like Renee took Lamar up on the offer.
The NBA alum further advised Renee of specific services offered at Vanity Wellness Treatment Center, which offers accommodations meeting Renee’s needs. When she responded to Lamar, she noted treatment centering around extensive trauma was what she required but wasn’t receiving at her current facility.
Apparently, Lamar wasted no time in getting the ball rolling for Renee and connected her with admissions to the center. After checking in last week, Renee seemingly loves the program and will continue her stay for over 60 days while focusing on mental health, sobriety, and physical health.
Congrats to Renee and hope she has continued success on her journey. And let’s give a hand to Lamar because he took his second chance and ran with it.
